I love having a job that can have such a positive impact on other people’s lives. Helping people achieve their health and fitness goals no matter how big or small is the most rewarding and satisfying thing I think you can do.
I believe in starting with the basics and practicing safe movement to ensure training is sustainable long term. Consistency is key, it creates the routine which puts you on the path to achieving your goals regardless of what these are.

Tori Fairbrass
MANAGER / CROSSFIT COACH
With over four years of coaching experience, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the energy, connection, and growth that CrossFit brings to people’s lives. I love seeing athletes step outside their comfort zones, surprise themselves, and experience that spark when they realise what they can achieve.
After coaching in a variety of gyms over the years, I’m proud to bring that experience and passion to Tasman Bay CrossFit. This community has been my most exciting and fulfilling challenge yet. Every day, I’m committed to helping our athletes move better, lift stronger, and chase down the best version of themselves.

Lou Richards
CROSSFIT COACH
I joined the team from Dunedin where I studied Anatomy and then Physiotherapy. I have always had an interest in coaching; often combining this passion with my competitive interest at the time which has lead me to coach netball, athletics and for the last 6 years, CrossFit.
I discovered CrossFit while I was at university when I saw the Games athletes take on 'Double Grace', although I didn't pluck up the courage to try a class until 2018. Since then I haven't looked back (unless it's a long cardio day and then I question my life decisions) and have gone on to compete at national levels in both CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting.

Nick Max
CROSSFIT COACH
After 10+ years of traditional resistance training, I felt I needed a different challenge. I’ve always loved coaching and helping individuals grow so when the opportunity came up to join the team at Tasman Bay, I knew it was something that I wanted to do both for myself and to help others.
Along side raising my 3 beautiful young boys, playing both senior and premier level Rugby in NZ and coaching Stoke’s Division 2 Rugby team. I understand how important it is to prioritise your own health and wellbeing.
“If it was easy, everyone would do it.” The pain and struggle we experience within the gym isn’t a sign of defeat. It is growth and every single time we show up to put our body through that struggle is a sign that we are that much better than we were yesterday.

My own health and fitness journey led me to CrossFit in 2021. I fell in love with the way CrossFit allowed me to focus on what my body is capable of, rather than an aesthetic based goal.
I have always had a passion for helping people and creating connections that make a real impact on people’s lives. I enjoy socialising with my friends, seeking new adventures and generally making the most out of this life I have.
I am beyond excited to be apart of your health and fitness journey and am committed to building your knowledge around movement and continuing to build your confidence and perseverance with exercise.
